UPDATED: Eskom Expo for Young Scientists Workshops 2024

Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is hosting a number of workshops in each province across South Africa in 2024 with the aim of enhancing the scientific skills of promising young researchers.

The objective of the workshops is to have learners interact with Eskom Expo coordinators, regional science fair directors, teachers and mentors in order to inspire learners to develop their own scientific ideas, which will then be presented as an Eskom Expo research project at district- and regional expos. District expos in 2024 will be compulsory qualifying rounds for regional expos. All participants must have qualified through a district expo in order to participate in a regional expo. THIS IS NEW.

At the workshops, learners will have the opportunity to delve into topics based on the 13 Eskom Expo categories, in order to conduct research, or expand on existing research plans.

Eskom Expo workshops intend to develop young scientists by guiding them through the ideation phase of research as well as assisting them on how to write a research plan, while identifying potential ethics violations.

Learners/Teachers are required to contact a respective provincial coordinator in their province to register to take part, or register via a link provided where applicable. All dates and venues are subject to change.
