Discover innovation at Eskom Expo’s National Science Week 2024 events

Eskom Expo for Young Scientists will host a series of activities across South Africa during National Science Week (NSW), celebrating the essential role of basic sciences in the modern world.

As part of the country’s broader Science Engagement Strategy, the primary objective of NSW from 29 July to 11 August, is to develop a scientifically literate society capable of forming independent opinions about science. Led by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA), a division of the National Research Foundation (NRF), National Science Week (NSW) will feature numerous activities in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation (STEMI). Through these activities, the aim is to inspire young scientists to develop an interest in STEMI and pursue related careers.

Eskom Expo will host a number of STEMI-related activities, including: science shows; learner and educator workshops focused on research and innovation; robotics and coding workshops; science exhibitions and competitions; public lectures; and seminars with panel discussions.
