Eskom Expo’s nationwide activities aim to sharpen scientific skills of young researchers

Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is conducting a range of activities across South Africa with the aim of enhancing the scientific skills of promising young researchers.

Research and Innovation Camps

A number of Research and Innovation (R&I) Camps will be hosted across the country to equip budding young scientists with the tools to produce award-winning projects. This initiative is a special intervention for learners who have been identified as promising young scientists.

These learners have been hand-picked due to their outstanding performances at Eskom Expo Regional Science Fairs, or at the Eskom Expo International Science Fair (ISF). At these exclusive camps, learners will be given one-on-one assistance to improve and build on their research ideas. They will also be assisted by qualified scientists, researchers, mentors and teachers who are experts in their respective fields.

Workshops

At the planned workshops, teachers will have the opportunity to delve into topics based on the 13 Eskom Expo categories, in order to prepare their learners to conduct research, or expand on existing research plans. Eskom Expo workshops contribute significantly to the growth and success of young scientists, empowering them to make meaningful contributions to the world of science and innovation.
